Alumni, students, faculty and staff gathered once again at National University of Health Sciences’ (NUHS) Illinois campus, June 21-23, for the annual networking, learning, and leadership event.
“Women in Medicine. Leaders in Healthcare,” was this year’s theme, and encouraged alumni to return to their alma mater, connecting and networking with former classmates and future colleagues, learning and expanding their skillsets through continuing education courses to advance their careers.
Attendees had the opportunity to participate in campus and clinic tours, recall their days as students, and attend presentations and workshops for all program fields: chiropractic, naturopathic, and oriental medicine, acupuncture, and massage therapy. This year featured an especially diverse array of courses and speakers, giving attendees a unique opportunity to learn more about topics outside of their individual professions in a productive, comfortable, and familiar setting.
Several awards were presented at the President’s Luncheon on Friday. JoAnn Raggs, purchase coordinator, was recognized for 25 years of service at NUHS; Dr. Claire Johnson received the President’s Quality Service Award for her exemplary work with NUHS’ journals, and the late Dr. Daniel Richardson was inducted into the NUHS Hall of Honor. Dr. Burt Rubin, DC, Class of 1978, was named Alumnus of the Year at the Saturday Alumni and Class Reunion Luncheon.
This year’s Homecoming sponsors included ChinaGel, Foot Levelers, NCMIC, and Standard Process.
Be sure to check out the Alumni page on the NUHS website later this summer for an in-depth recap of the event, as well as a special Homecoming 2018 video in the next edition of The Alumnus. Details for Homecoming 2019 are coming soon–watch this website for more information.
