A Time to Be Thankful

In honor of Thanksgiving, I want to say what I am thankful for. Seems a little cliché but it’s more like a tradition and traditions should be followed. First I want to thank our Turkey Bowl sponsors Thera-Band and Biofreeze. Also, many thanks to NUHS for orchestrating such an awesome event!

Since I wrote about Turkey Bowl in my last blog post, I forgot to write about how I attended the Rangers vs. Lightning hockey game. If you have read my previous posts you would already know I am a huge fan of the New York Rangers. I am thankful I was able to see my favorite hockey team down here in Florida. The drive to Tampa is even shorter than the train ride I used to take to New York City to see the Rangers play at home. The Rangers lost in a thrilling game; though they lost, I still had a great time. I only wish they came around more often!

So back to this past week. This week was a great one. We had off on Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving break; unfortunately I was unable to fly home to visit family because I had to work on Black Friday. Thankfully I was still able to have dinner with some close friends in the area. I am thankful for the great friends and family in my life and for this amazing experience I am having while pursuing my DC. I was also thankful I had somewhere to go for Thanksgiving. My friends and I had a great meal and we are especially thankful to the family who invited us into their home during this holiday.

In addition to having two days off, I received some great news this week. I received a scholarship for this trimester!

I met with Dr. Strauss, the dean of NUHS-Florida, to receive my certificate. I am thankful to the university for selecting me to receive a scholarship and I look forward trying to earn another in my time here at NUHS.

I have so much to be thankful for. I am especially thankful for the opportunity to tell my story on the NUHS blog. I am thankful to all who read it and I hope this blog sparks your interest in NUHS.

Personal Thoughts on Making a Difference

When I first entered chiropractic school, I believed that what we did was adjust and treat spinal conditions. However, chiropractic care is so much more than any individual aspect of care; it is an ideology of wholistic health care not driven from the treatment of illnesses, but actually aligning all aspects of life with the ultimate goal of health and preventive care.
