Faculty Achievements

Since joining the NUHS research community in 2004, Claire Johnson, DC, MSEd, PhD, DACBSP, FICC, Professor and Editor of NUHS Journals, and Bart Green, DC, MSEd, PhD, DACBSP, Lecturer and Associate Editor of NUHS Journals, have been steadfast pillars of discovery and inquiry. Often called the Dynamic Duo by their colleagues, Dr. Johnson and Dr. Green’s combined dedication to research has shaped their careers spanning two decades at NUHS.

NUHS faculty Kathryn Rioch, was recently featured in a U.S. News and World Report article, 15 Medical School Application Mistakes to Avoid.  

Fraser Smith, ND, assistant dean and associate professor of naturopathic medicine at National University of Heath Sciences, was recently featured in a U.S. News and World Report article about the addition of integrative medicine into many medical school programs. 

Carlo Guadagno, DC, DACBSP®, ICSC, FICC, a National University of Health Sciences’ Florida faculty member, was recently in Santiago, Chile for the 19th edition of the Pan American Games, serving the elite athletes of Team USA as a volunteer chiropractor with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) medical staff.  

Four members of faculty and staff were recently honored with President’s Awards for their hard work and service to National University of Health Sciences at ceremonies in Illinois and Florida. 

National University of Health Sciences’ alum Richard Olff, DC, recently presented Daniel Driscoll, DC, Dean of Institutional Compliance, with a Quilt of Valor. Dr. Olff’s sister, Kathleen Kirby, made the quilt, paying tribute to Dr. Driscoll’s service during the Vietnam War in the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines also known as “The Walking Dead.”

National University of Health Sciences’ faculty member Jennifer Gantzer, DC, MS, DACBN, FACN, was recently part of a discussion on the state of the chiropractic profession as part of an episode of Chiropractical, a National Chiropractic Mutual Insurance Company (NCMIC) podcast. The host talked with Dr. Gantzer and 19 other leaders within the chiropractic profession at The National, one of the largest chiropractic events organized by the Florida Chiropractic Association.  

Hyundo Franz Kim, PhD, MSOM, LAc, has recently been named Assistant Dean of the Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Program (AHM) at National University of Health Sciences (NUHS). Dr. Kim, who previously served as Chief Clinician of the AHM Program at the NUHS Whole Health Center in Lombard, has been teaching at NUHS since 2007.
