DC interns from the NUHS Whole Health Center – Chicago, provided stretching and soft tissue work for runners in the “March 4 Meg” 5K event in south suburban Evergreen Park, on Saturday, March 30. The event was held in honor of a local resident, Meg Moonan, a mother of four who died of melanoma last year. Proceeds from “March 4 Meg” will establish a fund for melanoma awareness and research.
17 interns from National University accompanied clinician Dr. April Miller, on what turned out to be a crisp, sunny spring morning. The interns provided both pre and post-race care, and offered information about National University’s clinic services. A local dermatologist also volunteered at the event, offering free skin screening to 5K participants.
“This is a great opportunity for outreach to the south suburban community,” says Dr. Miller, who is excited about continuing the Chicago clinic’s enthusiastic participation in a wide variety of community events. The NUHS Whole Health Center in Chicago welcomes new patients, and provides comprehensive chiropractic care for the entire family.
