Randy Swenson, DC, MHPE

Randy L Swenson headshotRandy Swenson is a chiropractic physician and educator. His education includes an AA degree from Austin State Junior College, BS and DC degrees from National College of Chiropractic and a master of health professions education degree from the Department of Medical Education of the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Swenson is a professor at National University of Health Sciences who has practiced chiropractic and taught several classes at National but finds administrative duties to be the most rewarding. His first administrative position was as the assistant to the vice president for academic affairs in 1979. He served as a dean at National for many years starting as associate academic dean in 1984, academic dean in 1987, dean of curriculum development in 1995 and dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences in 2000. Dr. Swenson developed and administers, as its chairperson, the massage therapy certificate and degree programs. He also developed the current BS in biomedical sciences degree completion program.

In addition to his university duties, Dr. Swenson has been a site team leader, commissioner, and is currently serving as chair of the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation.

He is a husband and father of three children, with seven grandchildren. He enjoys kayaking, cycling and hiking, thereby allowing him to frequently visit a favorite restaurant with his wife Pauline.
