For the second year, National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) is a proud sponsor of Veggie Fest, one of North America’s largest outdoor plant-based food and wellness events. The festival will be held August 8-9, 2026, in Lisle, Illinois. Annually, Veggie Fest attracts up to 40,000 attendees, and features 60+ international food options. The event promotes healthy living and meditation talks, live entertainment, 75+ wellness-focused vendors and interactive children’s activities.
This collaboration underscores the University’s commitment to advancing integrative medicine and expanding access to holistic health care. NUHS looks forward to connecting with the local community through engaging conversations, sharing educational resources and raising awareness about the Whole Health Center and Veteran’s Clinic. In addition to sponsoring a booth, NUHS is also sponsoring the presentation by Timothy Fior, MD, DABHM, titled Energy is Everything: Recharge Your Daily Life. Dr. Fior’s presentation is scheduled for Sunday, August 9, at 5 p.m. in Tent A.
“We are only as healthy as the powerhouses inside our cells,” said Dr. Fior.
“I’ll discuss the evolution of the energy producing system in our bodies, ways to measure how that energy system is working, things that disrupt it and interventions to boost our energy,” he said. Lab tests useful for diagnosing metabolic dysfunction will be shared, as well as ways to improve energy.

Through this sponsorship, NUHS students, faculty and staff will help attendees learn about the integrative and primary care services offered at the NUHS Whole Health Center. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about clinic services, including naturopathic medicine, chiropractic care, acupuncture, herbal medicine and more. Attendees will be able to explore treatments and their potential benefits, particularly chiropractic adjustments for better posture, acupuncture to enhance sleep and digestion, and nutritional counseling to promote sustainable, healthy eating habits.

Dr. Fior has practiced family medicine and homeopathy in the Chicagoland area since 1988. He is the co-founder and current vice-president of the Illinois Homeopathic Medical Association.
