On August 9th, DC interns from National University offered chiropractic care to veterans at the Illinois Warrior Summit, which was held at the University of Illinois Forum and visited by 4,000 military, veterans and their families. This is the second year that NUHS has sent a team of interns to treat veterans at the event.  This year, the interns were accompanied by clinician Dr. Sonia Joubert.

The Illinois Warrior Summit and 5th Annual Welcome Home Celebration connects military, veterans and families to services and programs with benefits, education, employment, housing, legal, disability, mental health, family and children services. “It was an honor to be able to take care of the vets that day,” says NUHS Intern Lisa  Lobbestael.

The Illinois Warrior Summit is hosted by the US Department of Veterans Affairs, the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Edward Hines VA Hospital, James Lovell Federal Health Care Center and Illinois Supporting All Veterans Equally (ISAVE).
