Find Your Balance

by Jul 10, 2020

It’s the ninth week of the summer term, and the second round of exams is next week. I can’t believe this trimester is almost over??!!! I was reflecting the other day, and the core of what I’ve learned so far in the TCM program is about maintaining or regaining balance.

Excessive emotional activity can lead to imbalances, too much of one kind of food can lead to imbalances, too much or too little exercise can lead to imbalances, excess of Yin will consume Yang, and an excess of Yang will consume Yin.

This past week I’ve challenged myself to create balance in my schedule. As I increase my study hours, I will also make room for more self-care activities. After I finished listening to my Radiology lecture, I needed to do something fun. My first fun project was repotting some onions & ginger that I started growing inside. I even made a new toad friend in the process!

Being a student has been challenging during all the chaos of 2020, but I have truly enjoyed spending lots of quality time with my family in Michigan. Our favorite dim sum restaurant isn’t open yet, so we decided to try and make one of my favorite dishes.

Whatever your circumstances, try to find balance and harmony.
