As we move into the fourth week of the trimester, we begin to have our first round of exams, so study time outside of class makes a quick increase. That being said, it also means that the clubs on campus are having their first meetings. During the summer term the clubs have all new E-board officers so it is interesting to see what the new club groups will bring to the table.
During week two we had the club lunch, an event where Student Services caters lunch and all the clubs have a chance to showcase their schedules and plans for the tri. The goal is to get the new tri 1 students to join the club. This trimester I am starting as the new club president for Chirogames, so I look forward to bringing more information about our club happenings to you over the course of the term.
During the lunch we also had representation from the Sports Council, Student American Chiropractic Association (SACA), Lambda Chi Sorority, Motion Palpation (MoPal), and Community Wellness Clubs. It’s always a fun event and made me very excited to attend club meetings this trimester.
Last week, the MoPal Club had its first big meeting and I was excited to attend. Motion Palpation is another technique used to identify restrictions in the spine–basically where the patient needs a chiropractic adjustment–and everyone can always use a little more practice with the techniques. Last week’s meeting covered Motion Palpation of the thoracic spine and the meeting was superb! It will be cool to see where the new E-board takes the topics over the course of the tri meetings.
I hope that everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend, and enjoyed the short work week! As always, if you have any questions, please email me at [email protected].
