Welcome back to a new trimester! I feel like my first post of every new trimester always starts the same, but it has an increasingly exciting sentiment. I feel like I am nearing the finish line with only two trimesters left, and yet my business has shifted from 13 class schedules to a full-time clinic schedule, partnered with studying for Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4 board exams! While three board exams in the span of a month does seem daunting–and certainly feels that way, too–it means I will be able to complete all the board exams required for licensure before trimester 10 even begins! We all know that the common goal is to complete school and excel through our program, but a degree without a license is simply an expensive piece of paper. I cannot wait to share my experience with these last three board exams once I’ve taken them.
Professional Clerkship Ahead!
Meanwhile, I have other exciting news; I will participate in the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute experience this upcoming spring! For those who may or may not be informed on this opportunity, it is a hospital clerkship that lasts for an entire trimester in which we as chiropractic students, under the guidance of Dr. Miller, are able to do a rotation where we are exposed to many other specialties in the medical field, including radiology, orthopedics and pediatrics, among many others. While this incredible news is exciting, I am going to hold off on discussing it in further detail until the spring when I’ll be actually be there. This will allow me to discuss the ins and outs of daily hospital life and all the clinical knowledge I’ll be met with as it is happening, rather than prospectively.
Entering Phase 3 Studies
This is officially the start of Phase 3 for me, and this also means my time until graduation and entering our field as part of the workforce continues to draw even closer. This is above all exciting, but also overwhelming at times. It truly feels like yesterday I was entering the doors for the first time, not fully aware of the journey I was embarking on. This blog has been a gift and an outlet for me to share my student life with my readers and I am grateful for each and every individual who takes the time to read what I write. As always, let’s make this trimester out best one yet!
