Not Such a Long Weekend

by Jun 2, 2017

I was looking forward to a long weekend with Memorial Day falling on a Monday this year but it didn’t really happen for me. When we started this tri, I was thinking I might be able to use the weekend and maybe take a trip to Saratoga Springs.

Schedule for a weekend class changed and we ended up spending a full Sunday with Herbal Patents and a midterm at the end of the day. Sunday evening I felt tired and instead of seeing friends and going out, I chose to stay home, have a piece of Italian cake, and watch “The Secret Life of Pets.” It was the perfect break for my brain before diving into studying for another herbal class.

Honestly, at this point, whenever a teacher is telling me about a certain herb, most of the times I have no idea what they are talking about! Chinese names are still an enigma and I keep studying and forgetting them. 🙂

Dr. Xu did a wonderful job this Sunday when she took the time to translate each formula from Chinese and then everything made sense and it was so much easier to remember them. Plus, next Sunday I’ll take the final, meaning one less class to worry about!

Monday morning was a lazy one and I wasn’t in any rush to shop or barbeque, but I still wanted to enjoy the weather so I took a drive to Evanston beach and Baha’i Temple in Wilmette. I love that beach even if it doesn’t smell like the ocean 🙂 and the temple is just an amazing piece of architecture.

Hope your weekend seemed a bit longer than mine!
