“The site reaches medical students around the globe,” says Kaley. “I went into this with a goal of increasing people’s awareness of naturopathic medicine and show that we were on par with medical students.”
She gained the opportunity to write for the blog through an advertisement she found in the American Medical Women’s Association newsletter. Kaley is a member of the AMWA.
So far Kaley has written monthly posts about: eating disorders, veterans health care, integrative medicine, pediatrics, the medical school experience ‑ and all from a naturopathic medicine point of view. The posts are also shared on the MSPress Facebook page. In addition, Kaley also has her own personal blog, discussing primarily her running and triathlon training.
Kaley is currently in her final trimester at NUHS and will continue writing until she graduates this August. Originally from Minnesota, she is currently looking for integrative positions on the east coast.
Kaley’s blogging is another example of how National University and its students are making important inroads for naturopathic medicine in integrative and mainstream health care venues.
