Flat Tires, Board Exams, and Mid-Terms!

Friday, February 21, 2020

I took my first set of board exams a couple weeks ago. It was HARD! I felt very prepared for it, both through the coursework I have completed so far at school, and through my dedicated study time. I don’t know that it was enough, and I may have to take it a second time (which isn’t super uncommon). Now begins the long, six-week waiting game to find out.

The weekend before board exams I had a flat tire on my Jeep. At first, it really stressed me out.  It was very cold and rainy, so I struggled to get the tire off and the spare on. I ended up needing to have it towed, but it all worked out. I took it as a sign that I needed to relax the weekend before boards. Sometimes a little reminder to take a dose of Vitamin ‘R’ (relaxation) is important, and it really helped me clear my head.

Feb 17th Week Collage

The week following board exams we had our first round of midterm exams. I have posted awesome pictures of my friend Jeff in strange poses prior to exams previously, but here is a new one for you. I am so appreciative of classmates like Jeff, he always keeps us laughing and helps us to relax a little.

Another cool thing that happened during mid-terms week was a cute display outside of the anatomy lab for the first trimester students who had just finished their first lab practical. It was displayed by the Fellowship of Christian University Students (FOCUS), and I absolutely loved it! I love it when upper trimester students reach out and encourage those coming in behind them. It is that gentle reminder that we have all gone through what they are doing, that they will survive it, and it will be awesome!
