How oncology massage and research has impacted the oncology field and how massage therapists can get involved in research was the focus of the keynote address by National University’s Dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences and Distance Education, Jerrilyn Cambron, DC, PhD, at the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of British Columbia, April 12, in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada.
Dr. Cambron, chair of NUHS’ Massage Therapy Program, has been involved in research and research literacy in the massage therapy field for more than 25 years, and served as president of the Massage Therapy Foundation. Her address titled, “Oncology Massage Research: A Call to Action,” encouraged the approximately 300 practicing massage therapists in attendance to read more research articles, write case reports and participate in research studies to continue to improve oncology outcomes.
