Alumni Celebrate NUHS 110th Anniversary at 2016 Homecoming
National University welcomed graduates, students, faculty and staff to its 2016 Homecoming in June. This year’s event celebrated the university’s 110th anniversary since its founding in 1906.
In addition to a wide variety of continuing education courses, and over 20 vendor displays, there were new activities and social events that took advantage of campus features.
Those attending took special guided tours called “Path Through the Past,” seeing newly renovated areas on campus plus enjoying historical photos and background from various eras in the rich history of National University. For lunch on Saturday, folks enjoyed selections from three different food trucks parked along the shore of Lake Janse.
Once again, the alumni sponsorship program covered expenses for 23 current students to attend all components of the event.
During Saturday night’s grand cocktail reception, President Joseph Stiefel honored key donors to the university and also presented several awards to university employees, faculty, alumni and trustees:
Dr. Theodore Johnson
Mrs. Jean Fairbank
Alumnus of the Year
Distinguished Service Award
Quality Service Award
“We are so thrilled that members of our university community from all over the world made a point to return and help us celebrate this special Homecoming,” says Ms. Lynn Nelson, director of Alumni Services.
