Program Overview
Naturopathic medicine encompasses the diagnosis and management
of primary care patients through the use of natural means that
include naturopathic counseling, nutrition, wellness counseling,
botanicals, physical medicine, homeopathy, physiotherapy,
electrotherapy, natural pharmaceuticals, and minor surgery.
National University of Health Sciences teaches the tenets and
philosophy of the profession and the profession's unique and
all-encompassing natural approach to the patient.
Accreditation
National University's ND program was granted accreditation by
the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education on October 13, 2012.
Accreditation allows NUHS graduates to sit for the NPLEX
examinations, which are the gateway to practice in licensed
states.
National University is also a member
of the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical
Colleges which was established to propel and foster the
naturopathic medical profession by actively supporting the academic
efforts of accredited and recognized schools of naturopathic
medicine.
