Standard Process, a leading producer of whole food and quality nutritional supplements is providing one $2500 scholarship to an eligible NUHS acupuncture student.
To qualify, the MSAc student should be enrolled in trimester 2 through 6, and have a cumulative GPA of 2.9 or better. Applicants must also provide a list of their contributions to the acupuncture profession, to the college, and to the community, as well as a letter of recommendation, preferably from a faculty member. There is also an essay requirement of 500-750 words addressing a specific topic chosen by Standard Process each year. Applications are available online and from the NUHS Office of Financial Aid. The deadline for application is March 14, 2014.
Standard Process has historically offered 3 annual scholarships of $2000 each for eligible NUHS chiropractic students. The new acupuncture scholarship follows similar eligibility and application criteria. Selected applications are sent to Standard Process, who makes the final decision on the recipient of the award.
“Standard Process is committed to supporting acupuncture students who have an interest in integrating nutrition into their future practices,” said John Nab, DC, director of professional development at Standard Process. “By learning how nutrition affects health outcomes they can support their patients’ total well-being from the very start.”
“Standard Process has been a strong supporter of professional education in the chiropractic field, and we are grateful that they are expanding that support to education in other natural medical specialties such as acupuncture,” says NUHS President Joseph Stiefel.
