Welcome Back!
The last few weeks of break have been some of the best days of my life. I spent so much time surrounded by love, family and peace. For a whole week, I was able to disconnect, realign and truly prioritize myself. In today’s fast-paced world, that kind of time feels rare, and I feel incredibly lucky to have shared it with my (new!) husband. Yes, I got married and it was absolutely the best experience of my life.
Following our wedding, we dedicated the week to reflecting on what we want our life to look like together. We set fresh goals, talked through our dreams and explored new ways to move through each day with intention. Leading up to the wedding, people kept asking me how I was feeling. Of course, I was excited, but the feeling was something deeper. It reminded me of those first few weeks of the new year when you set intentions, imagine growth and step into a new chapter of yourself. That’s the exact energy I carried into the wedding, and it’s the perspective I’m still holding onto now.
This shift also connects beautifully with the time of year. Living in the Midwest, I’ve grown to love the rhythm of the seasons and how they mirror our own cycles of change. In spring and summer, I feel myself blossoming into a more vibrant and outwardly engaged version of myself. Then, as fall and winter arrive, I naturally retreat inward focusing on family, cozy hobbies, rest and reflection. Nature teaches us that change is constant, and when we move with it, we allow ourselves the chance to grow.
Change isn’t always easy, but I’ve learned that even small shifts can bring so much joy. Saying hello to a stranger, asking your barista to surprise you with a seasonal drink, or taking a new approach to a daily routine, all of these little acts open the door to something unexpected. Without change, there is no growth.
So, as we step into a new trimester, here’s my challenge: do one thing you wouldn’t ordinarily do. Maybe it’s ordering something new off the menu, taking a different route to work or exploring a new hobby. Whatever comes to mind first but don’t overthink it, just go for it.
Happy Fall!
