Dr. Sonia Joubert brings over 20 years of clinical and private practice experience to National University. She earned her doctor of chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College, her master of science in clinical practice from National University and her bachelor of science from the State University of New York. She is also meridian therapy-certified, a Reiki master instructor and a kinesio-taping practitioner. Dr. Joubert is fluent in Spanish to serve a broad constituency of clinic patients
Prior to being on faculty, she was a guest speaker at National University discussing clinical application for Medicare coding, getting started with insurance, form preparation, CMS 1500 software, the use of modifiers, pre-certification and medical necessity letters. Dr. Joubert was also an Anatomy and physiology instructor at Hanover Park College of Massage, where she also taught hot rock massage, sports massage and dual massage courses.
Outside National University, she experienced multidisciplinary settings working together with emergency medicine, internist, orthopedist, oncologist and pediatricians at various hospitals in the Chicago area. In 2002, she left hospital the setting for private practice, then concentrated on clinical practice at NUHS. She currently is pursuing her Naturopathic Medicine degree at NUHS with expected graduation in August 2022.
Dr. Joubert has also volunteered at Children’s Hospital of Puerto Rico Oncology department, Saint Patrick’s School in Seneca Falls, New York, Waterloo County Health Department, Classic Cup Golf Tournaments at the Medinah Golf Club and more.
She received several honors including the Distinguished Service Award from New York Chiropractic College, the Distinguished Member Service Award from the Kiwanis Club of Shorewood (2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009) and the Thumbs Up Award from the Joliet Business Referral Group (2009).
