National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) welcomed alumni back to their alma mater for an exciting Homecoming 2026 celebration. The event was themed around the university’s 120th anniversary and it’s long-standing legacy of excellence in health care education. The milestone occasion brought the NUHS community together to honor the past, celebrate the present and look ahead to an inspiring future.
In honor of this anniversary, NUHS is inviting alumni to help reach a fundraising goal of $120,000 through its 120-Year Campaign to advance student opportunities, future initiatives and the University’s continued growth. With the support of our generous donors, the campaign has already reached almost 80% of its goal. 
“Among the most rewarding aspects of my role has been witnessing the journey of many Homecoming attendees as they progress from students crossing the commencement stage to becoming active and devoted members of our alumni community,” Tracy McHugh, Vice President for Administrative Services, said.
Over the course of the two days, alumni earned Continuing Education (CE) credit in chiropractic, naturopathic medicine, and acupuncture and herbal medicine professions. In addition to these CE courses and vendor displays, both days were packed with several social events that allowed everyone to connect, reminisce and network.
Guest speakers included Cindy Howard, DC’ 98, DABCI, DACBN, FIAMA, FICC; James Salvatore, DC’ 05, MS; Thomas Roselle, DC’ 77, LAc, DCCN, DCBCN; Manual Duarte, DC’ 86, MSAC’ 13, DABCO, DACBSP, DABCA; George Joachim, DC’ 84, DACBR and more.
As part of the President’s luncheon, President Emeritus James Winterstien, DC ’68, DACBR, took attendees on a journey through NUHS’ rich history. From our founding to the university’s remarkable growth over the decades, he shared stories about the evolution of our academic programs, the development of both locations and the legacy of our past presidents. His reflections beautifully captured the spirit of the university and the significance of celebrating 120 years of excellence.
During the cocktail receptions, President Joseph Stiefel, MS, EdD, DC, honored key donors and presented awards to university employees, faculty, alumni and trustees.
