Although the busyness of classes and studying never ends, it is always important to continue building your resume as well as continuing your growth as a person. In my undergraduate career at Mizzou, I remember one of my advisors telling me the importance of continuously building your resume in order to grow as a person, and to open yourself up for other networking opportunities with potential future employers.

Since that moment, I have attempted to maintain involvement in volunteering and other career building opportunities, so I can create the best version of myself. Currently, I have been volunteering with “Feed My Starving Children,” an organization that believes that “no one deserves to go hungry, especially when we can do something about it.” Individuals sign up online with a group, or alone, in order to pack nutritious meals for hungry children along the way. While volunteering, some individuals pack the meals, while others prepare boxes or press the labels on the boxes. It is a great atmosphere of positivity, and it feels great to work towards a common cause. After the packing of meals, you will receive an email notification a few weeks to months later informing you that the meals that you packed arrived at their destination safely. Although this is an amazing organization, there are many other amazing organizations that need volunteers, and I believe that everyone should be involved in bettering their community and their world.
