Job Summary

Responsible for all aspects of Payroll processing with dotted-line administrative support to Human Resources.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

Payroll

• Coordinate collection, computation and data entry of payroll, tax, insurance and deduction data to process biweekly payroll using timesheets, personal action notices and other records.
• Transmit payroll to Paylocity by Wednesday before paydate.
• Review each payroll for accuracy, organize checks for distribution.
• Reconcile work-study payroll with Financial Aid.
• Process any stop payments: checks or direct deposits.
• Prepare request for disbursements for wage garnishments and other voluntary deductions each pay period.
• Maintain payroll files.
• Prepare any manual payroll checks necessary.
• Stay current on all taxes and legal regulations regarding payroll and benefits.

Human Resources

• Maintain Paylocity System, including: Employee personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance tracking, performance review, termination data and Health and Welfare Insurance, Cobra tracking.
• Process new hire and termination paperwork.
• Keep employee demographic and deduction profiles current in system.
• Process medical/dental/life insurance bills.
• Maintain administration of flex-plan.
• Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information to authorized persons.

Other

• Prepare all payroll related reports for financial audits.
• Prepare journal entry to post payroll to G/L.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Experience in a busy Payroll or HR office.
• Automated payroll system experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Preferred

• Bachelors degree.
• 3-5 years automated payroll experience.

Budgeted Salary: $25.00-$26.44/hr
