Job Summary

The Patient Accounts Supervisor is a part of the NUHS Clinic Business Operations team and liaison to the Financial Services Department.  This position is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of the day-to-day business operations of all clinic locations.

Responsibilities

  • Protect patients by observing HIPAA Law.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of clinic policy and procedures.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of EHR billing and collection procedures.
  • Directly supervise all Lombard desk and part-time personnel.  Indirectly supervise outside clinics’ desk staff.
  • Train all supervised personnel.
  • Scheduling of and finding substitutes, or substituting, for the Lombard desk and part-time personnel.
  • Maintain all clinics’ manuals and postings.
  • Make changes to EHR system for all clinic’s appointments and fee schedules.
  • Control the Communicator function of EHR system including emergency closings and reminders.
  • Maintain credentialing of all clinicians and clinics with Medicare and Blue Cross.
  • Maintain all NUHS insurance affiliation information.
  • Under strict HIPAA compliance, gather and send requested medical records timely.
  • Ensure maintenance of all necessary documentation of clinic business.
  • Act as liaison with lab representative for new test requests, supply problems, etc.
  • Proof monthly vendor invoices for payment and make corrections to patient billing for omissions.
  • Proof month end reporting and make necessary corrections to the billing system.
  • Run month end reporting for the Financial Services Department.
  • Receive and respond to all patient inquiries/concerns confidentially, courteously, and timely.
  • Process IQD requests, promptly, for Lombard and conduct random audits of IQD applications from outside clinics.
  • Conduct random audits of patient demographics for accuracy – ABN content, signatures, etc.
  • Provide financial and administrative process support to Clinicians and Interns.
  • Create and process monthly reporting for all requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Healthcare experience.
  • Credentialing Experience.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have a positive attitude and take initiative.
  • Ability to quickly master new computer systems and office processes.

Preferred

  • Healthcare education.
  • Medical insurance experience.

Salary:

$22.00/hr
