Meet John Birdsall, ND. After graduating from National University, he began a two-year residency at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in their Midwest Regional Medical Center in Zion, Illinois. In this video, Dr. Birdsall explains how naturopathic medicine can work in synergy with conventional cancer treatment, and why his work with cancer patients is so rewarding.

Dr. John Birdsall is a second-generation naturopathic physician. His father, Dr. Timothy Birdsall, is a noted leader in the profession. Following in his father’s footsteps, John is working toward a career specialty as a naturopathic oncologist.

One of his favorite classes at National University was Internal Medicine. “It combined all of our basic and clinical sciences and put them together in real clinical settings with real case examples,” says Dr. Birdsall. “It also exposed me to naturopathic oncology.”

Thanks to his strong foundation in diagnosis and integrative medicine from NUHS, he feels confident working on a team alongside MD oncologists and other health care specialists in treating cancer patients.
