Although Drs. Nate (’16) and Shannon (14′ DC & 15′ MSAC) McKee met at National University of Health Sciences, it was a coincidental interaction of being in the same time at the same place that started their relationship. From there on, all interactions were intentional as their relationship flourished.

While pursuing their degrees, both were fortunate to have the opportunity to develop lasting connections with their instructors by becoming leaders within their cohorts. Shannon was honored with the role of Clinical Sciences Fellow. Nate was bestowed with the responsibilities of becoming a Teaching Assistant and tutor for several anatomy and E & M courses. Being able to serve in these capacities significantly influenced and help shape them both into the healthcare professionals they have become.

As Shannon pursued her Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree, she was inspired to further her education to provide her patients with another level of care. She enrolled in the Masters of Science in Acupuncture program, which by happenstance ensured she would continue to be at NUHS while Nate completed his education.

Since graduation, Nate has expanded his scope of practice to become a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and has been certified in the Cox Technic.

In 2016, both were ready to share their knowledge and opened McKee Chiropractic Unlimited, in Davison, MI. Nate’s focus is currently on the general population, while slowly incorporating the skillsets from the certifications he acquired. Shannon sees a wide range of patients primarily for pain management and fertility/pregnancy treatment with acupuncture.

As if moving to another state, expanding their education and opening a practice wasn’t enough; they welcomed a daughter in 2017 and recently added a baby boy earlier this year to their family5
