Student ID Photo Requirements

Getting your student ID is an exciting part of starting your journey with us. To ensure your card is ready when you arrive, we need you to upload a photo that meets specific criteria. This photo identifies you on campus so it needs to look professional and clearly show who you are.

Please review the following guidelines carefully before taking and emailing your picture to [email protected]. Photos that do not meet these specifications may be rejected and could delay the processing of your ID card.

Photo Specifications

Your submission must meet these technical and composition standards:

  • Format and Color: Submit a color photo in either JPG or PNG format.
  • Recency and Authenticity: Use a recent picture taken within the last six months. Do not enhance the photo in any way with filters, text, emoji or stickers.
  • Background and Positioning: Take the photo in front of a plain background while facing forward. Avoid sideways facing shots or side profiles.
  • Orientation: Orient the photo vertically rather than horizontally.
  • Subject: You must be the only person in the picture.
  • Expression and Eyes: Look forward with your eyes open. Maintain a neutral facial expression or a natural smile.
  • Framing: Ensure your head and shoulders are clearly visible in the shot.
  • Attire: Do not wear hats or head coverings unless they are worn daily for religious purposes. If worn, these items must not obscure any facial features.
  • Eyewear: Check that eyeglasses are free from glare. Dark glasses are not permitted unless you have a medical reason for them.
  • Lighting: Use sufficient lighting to ensure there are no shadows on your face or the background.
