Student Accounts Coordinator
Job Summary
Coordinates all activities in management of Student Accounts. Manage payment plans and Perkins loans follow-up. Assist current students and graduates in payment of their student account. Primary liaison in coordination of activities with Financial Aid and Registrar office.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
• Primary contact for all students regarding their student accounts
• Manage integrity of all student accounts. Monitor student ledgers for accurate debits and credits
• Post student registration batches – tuition and all student fees
• Process student loans in conjunction with Financial Aid
• Ensure posting amounts match Financial Aid disbursement rosters
• Oversee institutional adherence to federal regulations regarding student loan funds
• Process refunds to students
• Collect payments. Reconcile and post daily payments
• Counsel students as to their various payment plan options. Administer payment plans
• Calculate and process monthly finance charges
• Close out student accounts monthly. Run statements and aging.
• Send monthly past due notices. Contact students regarding past due balances
• Primary contact person for billing and collection agencies
• Update tuition due dates and other information on website
• Participate in Student Appeals Committee
• Address new incoming students during orientation
• Keep Students Accounts procedures current. Communicate such to students, faculty, and staff
• Coordinate housing charges with Assistant to the Director of Maintenance
• Collect & refund housing security deposits
• Work with external auditors at year-end
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration or prior experience
• Experience with automated accounting systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred
• Not-for-profit or Educational Institution accounting experience
Salary: $21.63/hr
