We Expect More - Because You Deserve More
At NUHS, we believe excellence begins with higher standards. That’s why our Doctor of Chiropractic program exceeds the minimum requirements found at many other schools. Our rigorous, science-driven curriculum is designed to challenge you to think critically, solve problems with confidence, and gain a comprehensive understanding of integrative medicine.
By raising the bar, we ensure our students graduate as exceptional doctors – clinically proficient, intellectually prepared, and ready to lead in the ever-evolving field of integrative healthcare.
“We have always attracted students who want to be challenged. It has led them to amazing roles. VA hospitals. Research. Professional organizations. Every institution wants you to be successful. At NUHS, we want you to be successful here – and when you leave. Everything we do is about the day after graduation.”

Frequently Asked Questions
Our Doctor of Chiropractic program is available in two epicenters of health care:
Lombard, Illinois: Our Illinois campus is located in Lombard on a safe, sprawling 38-acre suburban campus with apartments, a pond, and lots of green space. The NUHS Illinois campus offers convenient access to renowned hospitals, cutting-edge research facilities, and premier wellness centers. Seminole,
Florida: Situated on the campus of St. Petersburg College, our Florida site delivers the same rigorous NUHS curriculum in a warm, coastal setting. Students enjoy small class sizes, state-of-the-art facilities, and the chance to study chiropractic care in a region with a growing demand for integrative and preventative health services. Both campuses provide the same high-quality education and clinical training for our Doctor of Chiropractic degree, empowering students to choose the location that aligns with their lifestyle and career aspirations.
Yes! We’re dedicated to helping students confidently invest in their future. NUHS participates in federal financial aid programs and offers personalized financial counseling to guide you in making informed decisions. Almost 80% of our students rely on some form of financial aid. From loans and payment plans to scholarships, our team will work with you to create a financial plan tailored to your needs and goals.
NUHS offers a range of merit- and need-based scholarships for incoming and current students. Some are awarded automatically based on academic achievement, while others require a simple application. We encourage all students to explore scholarship opportunities early in the admissions process to see what you are eligible for!
At NUHS, we hold our students to higher standards because we prepare you for more. Unlike programs that accept students directly from high school or with minimal college credit, we require a bachelor’s degree to ensure you’re academically ready for the rigor of our science-driven, clinically intensive curriculum. This higher standard equips you with the confidence, knowledge, and skills to excel as a leader in chiropractic care and deliver better outcomes for your future patients.
We welcome a variety of undergraduate majors, provided you meet our science prerequisite coursework. While many of our students come from biology, kinesiology, or health science backgrounds, we’ve also seen great success from those with degrees in psychology, business, and more.
Students must have earned a baccalaureate degree and a minimum GPA of 3.00. Those between a 2.75 and 2.99 may be admitted under an Alternative Admissions Track Plan (AATP). In that program, students are expected to have completed a total of 24 credit hours in life and physical science coursework before entering the chiropractic or naturopathic programs. These should include both lecture and laboratory components in each of the following areas: Biology, Physics, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.
