NUHS Whole Health Center to offer $15 screenings during Heart Health Fair
During American Heart Month, the local community will be able to receive $15 health screenings aimed at improving their heart and overall health at the NUHS Whole Health Center’s Heart Health Fair Community Appreciation Week, Monday, February 27 to Friday, March 3.
“This is an opportunity for people to access health care that can identify health issues and provide preventive care,” said Sonia V. Joubert, DC, ND, MSc, CKTP, Attending Clinician at the NUHS Whole Health Center. “The event will also introduce patients to the different programs in the clinic, such as chiropractic, naturopathic, acupuncture, and Chinese herbal medicine.”
For $15, patients will be able to receive a Body Mass Index calculation, blood pressure screen, oxygenation rate, postural analysis with foot scan, and EKG screen with a Chinese health diagnosis involving pulse and tongue checks. In just 10 minutes, a non-fasting “cholestech” screen will also be available to test a patient’s cholesterol and glucose levels, both of which impact heart function.
“Using the information, NUHS interns and clinicians can provide the participants with information on possible measures to maintain good health,” Dr. Joubert said.
Suitable for all ages, the screenings are preventative healthcare measures that are in line with NUHS’s goal to increase community health awareness and prevention.
“Good health is the best gift you could provide to your family,” Dr. Joubert said.
The NUHS Whole Health Center in Lombard offers Community Appreciation Week three times a year; every spring, summer and fall.
