Patients and Families Come FIRST at Sanctuary Hospice of IL; we aim to guide our patients’ quest for a rewarding quality of life in their final days and to help their circle of family and friends support them in life and grieve for them in death. Sanctuary pledges to provide expert hospice care for the comfort and dignity of the terminally ill by addressing  individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Sanctuary Hospice serves as a resource to the community for end-of-life care and related issues and seeks to provide holistic care for all “appropriate” patients and families who need hospice services regardless of ability to pay.

Description:

Hospice Volunteers come from all walks of life, yet they all share a common desire – – – to enrich their own lives and the lives of others by giving generously of their time, energy, and talents. Volunteers are an integral part of our interdisciplinary hospice team. Once trained they may work in several areas:  Administrative support, Direct Patient Care Visitation for companionship and support, Bereavement support, Veteran-to-Veteran Program, Pet Therapy, Music Appreciation, Massage Therapy, and many other Special Alternative Complementary Services.
