William Chromey, DC, is an instructor in the
Clinical Sciences Department, teaching courses in Diversified
Techniques, Dermatology, Gastrointestinal/Genitourinary and Special
Populations (geriatrics, pediatrics and male health).
He joined NUHS to change his career path and to influence the next
generation of chiropractic physicians. "What I enjoy most is the
youthfulness I gain by being around the students, and the
opportunity to give back to the profession and the next
generations," Dr. Chromey said.
A member of the U.S. Open Wellness Team and the United States Golf
Association,
Dr. Chromey holds Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified
Levels I/II - Medical. For the U.S. Open, he is on a select team of
DCs and other care providers who treat PGA players, caddies and
staff during the week of the championship.
He is qualified to evaluate a player's swing, detect its faults
and improve it by specific and targeted rehabilitation and
exercises. He may also conduct functional body screens or
assessments to further detect problems with an athlete, and conduct
rehab and assign appropriate exercises to enhance performance and
reduce injury. Level II includes assessment of advanced injury
biomechanics relative to the sport and performing select functional
movement assessments (SFMA) to further determine an injury to the
body and whether or not to treat or not. TPI increases knowledge,
language and skill level appropriate for communicating with elite
PGA players, their coaches and trainers.
Dr. Chromey is also a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician
(CCSP) and has completed the first 100 hours of 300 towards a
diplomat via the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.
He was selected to be on a national panel of 12 to reassess,
reevaluate, critique and write new test questions for the CCSP
exam.
His personal interests include family, golf, baseball, bowling and
exercise.
