Steven S FreemanSteven S. Freeman, DC, is chair of the Clinical Sciences Department – Florida. In his role, he serves as an immediate liaison between students and faculty within the Clinical Sciences Department. He oversees the day-to-day management of all faculty and students to ensure a smooth running department and the provision of evidence-based clinical instruction. “My goal is to create a community that fosters educational excellence within a positive, supportive and safe environment,” Dr. Freeman said.

Dr. Freeman has worked as a full-time faculty member at the National University – Florida site since 2014. He teaches several classes in the Clinical Sciences Department and has helped to coordinate several collaborative case study presentations to NUHS Florida faculty, staff, and students.

Prior to coming to NUHS, Dr. Freeman spent 22 years in practice that included both private and interdisciplinary care. For 15 years, he provided Quality Assurance work in Pennsylvania, ensuring the adoption of an evidence-based approach to care and improving chiropractic management and documentation. He has lectured extensively on the subject of practice guidelines and interdisciplinary care.

Dr. Freeman earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Life College of Chiropractic and his Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University in New Jersey. He has a certification from the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians and is a Certified Healthcare Quality Manager.

Outside of NUHS, Dr. Freeman has a wife, Lisa, and two children, Rachel and Maddie. He is an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.
