Dr. Yu Zhu received her medical degree from Gansu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1983, and completed a master program of study at Shanghai University of Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology in 1986.

Dr. Zhu also served as an assistant professor, then lecturer and associate professor at Gansu College, and was invited in 1994 to teach Traditional Chinese Medicine at Singmen Medical Center in Stockholm, Sweden, where she became the director of teaching and research in the acupuncture department.
From 1999 to 2002, Dr. Zhu worked in the Shaare Zedek medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel as a visiting professor, and headed up the TCM Unit at its Integrated Complementary Medical Center. She was also a faculty member of Health Sciences Ben-Gurion University in Negev, Israel, teaching TCM and acupuncture.
From 2003 to 2006, Dr. Zhu chaired the TCM department and served as clinic supervisor at Atlantic University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and most recently has worked in clinical practice at First Health Associates in Illinois.
Dr. Zhu has published 18 academic papers in several Chinese journals and co-authored 5 books.
