Information
Our librarians will search specialized books, journals, and computerized databases to find the information you want. You will need to give us a specific description of your topic, years and languages to be searched, and any limitations (chiropractic or medical, human or animal, English only, etc.).

Books
Ask your local library to request the book on interlibrary loan. We will provide any books that are not in demand by NUHS' students, faculty, or staff.

For best service, call between 9a.m. and 4p.m. on weekdays. To request reference service or article photocopies during evenings or weekends, call the appropriate phone number and leave a message. We will call you back as soon as possible.
Article Photocopies
We can provide photocopies of articles available in the LRC collection. You will usually receive your photocopies within one to four weeks. For fastest service, supply us with complete and accurate information, including the authors' names, article title, journal title, journal volume and issue number, date, pages, and the source of your information. If you have a MEDLINE/PUBMED search, the UI/PMID number is also useful. Illegible or incomplete requests will be delayed or returned unfilled.
If we do not have the journal you need, we will return your request unfilled. Ask your local library about obtaining it through interlibrary loan.
This service is in great demand. Please limit your requests to no more than five articles at a time. To provide fair service to all its users, the Learning Resource Center may sometimes limit requests further. Requests that exceed the fair use guidelines of federal copyright law will also be returned.
Call 630-889-6613 to request one or two articles. Requests for 3-5 articles should be faxed to 630-495-6658, mailed, or emailed to interlibraryloan@nuhs.edu. There is a $10 fee per article.
LRC Hours
You are welcome to use the Learning Resource Center in person. Hours vary from time to time, so call 630-889-6612 before you come.
