Thai Massage is an interactive manipulation of the body using passive stretching and gentle pressure along energy lines, in which the effect is uniquely relaxing as well as energizing. These movements help:
Unlike the continuous strokes of Western massage, the Thai
method uses point pressure, muscle stretching and compression, done
in a rhythmic movement or gentle rocking. In Thai massage, it is
not just the hands that are used to apply the massage techniques,
but the therapist's feet, forearms, knees, and elbows as well.
Sessions are typically performed on a floor mat with the client
dressed in comfortable loose clothing.
The body begins to open and regain flexibility and ease of
movement, while the mind gently returns to calm alertness. Tension
and toxic material is released from joints, muscles, and connective
tissue.
