Instructor, Clinical Practice
Dr. Kamin earned her baccalaureate degree from the University of
Arizona in 1981, and earned a doctor of naturopathic medicine
degree from Bastyr University in 1992. She currently teaches ND
students in the clinical phase of their program at NUHS. She also
maintains a private practice in Buffalo Grove, IL.
She spent over 17 years in practice, primarily in Scottsdale, Arizona. While in Arizona, Dr. Kamin helped open the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, both by recruiting students and teaching in the student clinic. She also supervised student rotations in her private practice, mentoring future naturopathic physicians in all aspects patient care and practice management.
Dr. Kamin believes in educating patients so that they can understand the deeper reasons for the imbalance in their health, creating a stronger connection to their vitality. She has conducted several patient educaiton classes toward this end. She has also taught meditation and hands-on healing to individuals, patients and medical professionals since 1994. Her goal is to help them be more sensitive to their own needs and to expand their awareness, and, in the case of health care professionals, to increase their sensitivity and awareness in relationship to their patients' needs.
Dr. Kamin is a single parent to teen-age daughter Courtney, and 3 wonderful dogs Powder, Kira and Xena.
