Instructor, Clinical Practice
Dr. Kathy Kamin earned her
baccalaureate degree from the University of Arizona in 1981, and a
doctor of naturopathic medicine degree from Bastyr University in
1992. She currently teaches ND students in the clinical phase of
their program at NUHS. She also maintains a private practice in
Buffalo Grove, IL.
Dr. Kamin has spent over 17 years in practice, primarily in Scottsdale, AZ. While in Arizona, she helped open the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine both by recruiting students and by teaching in the student clinic. She also supervised student rotations in her private practice, mentoring future naturopathic physicians in all aspects patient care and practice management.
Dr. Kamin believes in educating patients so they can understand the deeper reasons for the imbalance in their health, creating a stronger connection to their vitality. She has conducted several patient educaiton classes toward this end. She has also taught meditation and hands-on healing to individuals, patients and medical professionals since 1994. Her goal is to help people become more sensitive to their own needs and to expand their self awareness. In the case of health care professionals, she aims to increase their sensitivity and awareness in relation to their patients' needs.
Dr. Kamin is a single parent to teenage daughter Courtney, and three wonderful dogs--Powder, Kira and Xena.
