Sonia Joubert, DC, CKTP

Instructor, Clinical Practice

Sonia Joubert _250Dr. Sonia Joubert has been a clinician at NUHS since 2011, currently working in the NUHS Whole Health Center - Aurora. She received her doctor of chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College (NYCC) in 1996, her bachelor of science in math and biology from the State University of New York in 1992, and is currently working on her master of science degree, with an expected graduation date of August 2014. She is also Meridian Therapy certified, a Reiki Master Instructor, and a Kinesio Taping practitioner.

Prior to being on faculty, she was a guest speaker at NUHS in 2010. She spoke about the clinical application for Medicare coding, getting started with insurance, form preparation, CMS 1500 software, the use of modifiers, pre-certification and medical necessity letters. From 2003 to 2005, Dr. Joubert was an Anatomy and physiology instructor at Hanover Park College of Massage, where she also taught hot rock massage, sports massage and dual massage courses.

In addition to being a clinician at NUHS, Dr. Joubert has been in private practice for 18 years, with the last 9 in Shorewood, Illinois.

Since 1986, Dr. Joubert has volunteered at the Children's Hospital of Puerto Rico, OASIS of NYCC, Saint Patrick's School in Seneca Falls, NY, Waterloo County Health Department, Sky Dive Chicago, Classic Cup Golf Tournament, Kiwanis Club of Shorewood, the Mark Staehely Foundation, the Timbers of Shorewood and more. Dr. Joubert was also a guest speaker on a radio talk show in Syracuse, NY.

Dr. Joubert received several honors as well including the Distinguished Service Award from NYCC, the Distinguished Member Service Award from the Kiwanis Club of Shorewood (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) and the Thumbs Up Award from the Joliet Business Referral Group (2009).
